Lagos
A hugely popular area of the Algarve in Portugal is Lagos. One of the Algarve's major tourist destinations, Lagos has some of the finest beaches in the Algarve. The nearest beach to the town of Lagos is Praia da Batata or 'town beach' as it is also known, while a short walk outside of the main town are the beaches of Praia de Porto de Mos and the much photographed Praia da Dona Ana.

Situated just outside the town of Lagos is the wonderful beach of Praia da Dona Ana, famed for the amazing rock formations that are scattered around the beach.

To the west of Lagos itself is Praia de Porto de Mos, a beach that wasn't as well known as the other beaches closer to Lagos but due to the ever increasing development of the area the beach is much more popular now.
