Praia de Monte Gordo is a fantastic beach. Located just a little bit further down from Praia de Santo Antonio in Vila Real, the sand is almost white in bright sunlight and the waters are some of the warmest in the Algarve because of the short distance to Spain and the Mediterranean Sea.

Pego do Inferno

Pego do Inferno (Pool of Hell) is in the parish of Santo Estevao, a few kilometres from Tavira. The name is somewhat ironic given that it's a beautiful turquoise - green lagoon with a 5 metre cascading waterfall that is a run off from the Asseca River. Locally Pego do Inferno is known as 'The Secret Waterfall' due to it's descreet location.
